We’re in a battle for the soul of Fremont. It’s time to remember who we are. We’re Americans: tough, resilient, but always full of hope. It’s time to treat each other with dignity. Build a middle class that works for everybody. Fight back against the incredible abuses of power we’re seeing. It’s time to dig deep and remember that our best days still lie ahead.
It’s time for respected leadership in the White House—and dignified leadership in Fremont. It’s time for equal opportunity, equal rights, and equal justice. It’s time for an economy that rewards those who actually do the work. It’s time for a Mayor who will stand up for all of us, including #taketheknee for #Blacklivesmatter.
Your candidate can't win this race without your help. Flyering, word-of-mouth, and donating are all ways of helping us achieve our goals together.
Most importantly, if you haven't contributed to our campaign yet, please do so right now. If you've already given the maximum of $250,/$640 please consider asking a family member to donate as well.
There are other critical ways you can help at this critical time:
Phonebanking: We'll be calling voters virtually. You can call from anywhere, including the safety of your own home. Contact us and someone from my campaign will sign you up and show you how it's done.
Hosting a House Party: We'll be doing this virtually of course. Contact us and we'll get you set up with what you need to host your own Zoom house party.
Drop Literature. That means walking neighborhoods with a list and leaving campaign literature on voters' doorsteps. No need to knock. We need to keep our team safe. Contact us to sign up.
Endorse Me for Election. I would be thrilled to list you as a supporter in our campaign literature and on our website. Contact us to endorse.
Post a Lawn/Window SIgn. These will be ready soon. Contact us, fill out your address and we'll deliver one to you. BUMPER STICKERS/BUSINESS CARDS
Thanks so much for all of your support. I hope you'll sign up to get involved in our campaign in one or more of the many ways listed above to help us
IF ELECTED AS MAYOR, I WILL INTRODUCE A MOTION TO COUNCIL to add to existing Ordinance IN OUR FIRST MEETING:
EXEMPT ALL BUSINESSES OF CITY TAX DUE TO CRISIS OF COVID-19, where the Gross receipts have reduced in 2020
The City of Fremont requires that all businesses operating in the City register and pay a business tax. Exemptions from this requirement are granted to those businesses that are or engage in the following:
Anyone opening a business who believes that they qualify for a business tax exemption may file a Formal Request for Exemption. Supporting documentation of non-profit status, such as notification from the Internal Revenue Service and State of California must be included. Anyone wishing to be exempt under the youth and senior part-time occupations exception must provide proof of age and income.
Further information on the City of Fremont Business Tax can be found in the Fremont Municipal Code.
